Paperless Checks Implemented by the Government

Albeit the advancements in technology, the government still relies on direct mail when sending checks to their beneficiaries. This process is tied up with how most banks can release funds to its their beneficiaries. There are a few downsides with this procedure which include lost checks and deferred payment due to courier timelines.

More than these reasons, the government has a better reason for altering the way funds are distributed to its beneficiaries. The US government decided to send checks electronically. This will include the beneficiaries who previously applied for Social Security and other institutions by the first of May next year will be able to collect their checks electronically, directly deposited into their bank or federal credit union. The statement was given by the US Treasury Department last Tuesday.

Beneficiaries who have already received their checks will need to find a way to receive their checks electronically by the first of March in 2013. Officials from the Treasury Department said that there are already eight out of ten benefit recipients are already using electronic sending of benefits. Other beneficiaries will start receiving their money through a safe and reliable method using electronic funds transfer.

With this process completely implemented, government beneficiaries will start enjoying the benefits of timely funds transfer. Simply because it will be more convenient to receive checks at once into your account rather than through mail.

Perhaps most importantly, this initiative will also help the government save a lot of money which will in turn is helpful to taxpayers. They will no longer be obliged to pay for the $120 million annual budget established for paper checks. It will also save one billion dollars for Social Security for 10 years.

Of course, because this new procedure, a new challenge is presented. Considering that most of the beneficiaries are elderly, the issue of misunderstanding the process is expected. This problem has been anticipated by the government so an education campaign is scheduled to be launched to facilitate help to beneficiaries making the transition more straightforward.

One of the buying points that the national government presented when promoting the new practice is focused on reiterating the switch to paperless checks will be advantageous to its beneficiaries. Officials said that once the switch is on full blast, it will eliminate concerns of missed checks thus providing timely access to the benefits received.

The new process includes Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Office of the Personnel Management, Railroad Retirement and Supplemental Security Income. From these agencies, several beneficiaries await the full implementation of the said process. Hopes are high that it will be a straightforward implementation.

Paperless environments have been implemented at most banks and your local federal credit union for some time. It has been an initiative that promotes economizing on resources, a major initiative that focuses on using up resources on other aspects of operation. These initiatives have helped businesses provide better services and benefits to their employees. Clearly, these advantages have been recognized by the government.

Life 100 years ago

The days hundred years before were very different from now. We might believe they were nicer with less stress. In fact, they were absolutely miserable.

The problems of a century ago included pollution, traffic congestion, poor diet and disease.

Today millions of cars emit gases which we all think bring about pollution and plenty of accidents. Was it much better hundred years before? The answer is no. It seems amazing that only one hundred years ago the automobile industry was still in it’s infancy, and the majority of transport was carried out by using horse drawn vehicles. Horses which ran away were common that killed countless numbers of people. The horse-associated fatality rate was ten times today’s car-associated rate. Over three million horses were used in American cities and every horse produced about 25 pounds of manure each day. In addition to horses motorcars started to appear but the number back then was less than 20,000 motorcars in the whole world, a lot of them being electric cars. Today, there are more cars manufactured than their is demand for it. There are around 1 billion cars and trucks on the road, half of them in the United States.

Food was terrible. For example, to enhance the color of milk from diseased cattle, added plaster of Paris was used. Bakers preserved their dough with alum and sulphur of copper. Customers were continually enraged to explore pieces of foreign matter in their bread such as oven ash and grit. At the beginning of 19th century majority of the working class lived on a dreary diet of bread, butter, potatoes and bacon. Butcher’s meat was a luxury. Nevertheless things significantly improved at the end of 19th century.

Given these horrid conditions it is not surprising that illness was common. Five leading causes of demise were pneumonia, influenza, tuberculosis, diarrhea and heart disease. It is genuinely amazing to see that the official cause of death has changed dramatically over the last 100 years owing to the discovery of what really kills people. Cancer is a leading example of this.

Building contractors had a freehand to build as they wanted. revenue became the primary motivator for builders. They understood that those arriving in the cities needed a job and somewhere to live. As a result, a house was put up quickly and cheaply. None of these homes was built with a bathroom, toilet or running water. Cooking was a huge task what is more laundry was physically punishment.

The next time anybody wants to complaining about how hard things are now, stop and recall what it was like just 100 short years before. We have such a lot of things to be thankful for and very few of us have any reason to feel like we are living in the ancient times just mainly because we do not own the newest cellular phone or LCD television.

Should You Use Antique Fishing Lures?

Antique fishing lures sound like something taken out of a dusted box or like the primitive rods and hooks used by our fishermen forfathers. Yet, some people collect antique fishing lures and even use them from time to time. There is a difference between new lures which are designed to look sleek and reminiscent of the live bait and older ones which do not have this particular appearance. Actually, stiffness best describes antique fishing lures. A feature recognizeable in old and new models alike is the imitation of the insect look for some of the designs.

When you collect antique fishing lures, they are most likely to come with a story that you’ll remember and tell to friends and family when you get the occasion. Normally, classic lures will work for almost any type of fish, with some exceptions due to variation, species and habitat. There is rather little information on antique fishing lures, given the fact that new models receive most of the attention.  Then, be sure to use a Jaguar XJS windscreen windblocker wind deflector restrictor.

Although a different terminology is used for antique fishing lures, classic or old models are still available with some stores. Internet sites and some auction houses may be the right places to visit for such acquisitions. The models, the prices and the availability vary from store to store, but if you are keen on finding precisely an older model, you may get it after a persistent search. Sometimes you have the chance to find these old lures in modern specialized shops, too. You can also get the information about the places where such lures can be bought from other hobbists.  Also, be sure to use the HCG Slim Express Seattle.

When searching the Internet for antique fishing lures, you will also be able to find, some kind of information on the history of fishing, on the first gear manufacturers and their tradition as well as many other things worthy of consideration. You can also find books and guides, collectors’ information as well as specialized publications such as fishing magazines.  Finally, do go with a Mercedes 500 SL windscreen windblocker wind deflector restrictor.

There is the category of collectors for whom the historical value of the antique fishing lures is what matters the most despite their high prices. Such highly valuable designs can be even one hundred years old, and they usually belong to mature collections that are occasionally sold at auctions. These lures are really expensive, somewhere in the area of $1,000 to  $5,000. They usually end up in the possession of passionate collectors who belong to exclusive groups. From time to time other collectors try to step into this group but they cannot be considered buyers at the first level.

Meta Descriptions: Is it Really SEO?

One of the items which drives me insane about seo these days is how people tend to concentrate so much on the “advanced” tricks and methods that they start to overlook the basics. Case in point: meta descriptions appear to be dying a slow and painful death.

For those unfamiliar, meta descriptions are brief teaser summaries which illustrate what a given web page is all about. Search engines like Google pull these descriptions and display them immediately below the title link of a search result (see example below). Except, of course, when it doesn’t.

Too many people these days havegiven up due to the inconvenience of composing persuasive meta descriptions for their articles, blogs and web pages. In these scenarios, Google basically scrolls the web page alone for examples of the search terms inside of the text. It after that pulls a sample or two and presents them under the search end result, usually in brief indecipherable snippets.

Most SEO newbies know that titles are incredibly vital to an online marketing strategy, not just to general optimization and page rank, but also to inspire readers to click on results as soon as Google pulls them up. But what’s likewise true for a majority of surfers is that when they scan through search results, the title itself only encourages them to pause for a bit. In those situations, it’s the text immediately under the title link that people scan swiftly to determine whether or not to click. That’s where a good meta description can give your page the extra interest it deserves.

So why are a lot of people removing meta descriptions from their Search engine optimization practices? The primary reason is that meta descriptions and meta keywords have no genuine effect on search engine page rank anymore. Those who have been using the ‘Net since the early days of AOL probably remember the trend of “spamming the keyword field,” where evil Internet publishers would load up on as many keywords as possible (even those barely associated to the web page itself) in an effort to get one up on the system and boost their page rank.

Search engines caught on to this tactic since then and subsequently removed any additional worth those fields used to provide – including meta descriptions. Alas, quite a number of individuals have erroneously utilized this information to conclude that meta descriptions have no worth in Search engine optimization. Hey, if it won’t improve my page rank, what do I need it for, right? Wrong!

The biggest mistake a publisher commits is to start writing strictly for robots. It’s people that you aim to appeal to, and a good meta description will help more viewers to click on your content. After all, what good is a high page rank if people simply ignore your stuff?

So with that said, here are some recommendations for writing good quality meta descriptions for your pages, which I think should be part of every company’s general SEO marketing strategy:

  1. Make them powerful. The entire point is to inspire individuals to click, right? Use action phrases like “Find more information…” or “Learn about ___ “  to give viewers a clear reason to see your page.
  2. Use your keywords. Just because meta descriptions don’t count towards page rank doesn’t mean you should just forget about your carefully optimized key phrases. Search engines like Google still bold search terms in meta descriptions when displaying results, and these bolded phrases could help attract the eye of the viewer. You shouldn’t overdo it, but including the main phrase at least once in your description is a sound practice.
  3. Don’t be too wordy. You only have a few seconds to capture a audience’s attention, so don’t waste time. Google allows for a maximum of 156 character meta descriptions (in most cases) before they are truncated. Try to fit the main focus of your content within those character limits. Don’t be shy though. Use as many of those characters as you can – anything less is wasted real estate.
